Card Making ( best out of waste)

Today while organizing my stuff, I found a card which I made few years back. This is a very old way of using pencil peel which my mother taught me when I was very young. I still find it very interesting & that's the reason I decided to share it with school going kids who always want some different & innovative ideas for art & craft projects.

Here we don't need any special material for making this simple card. A construction sheets of your required size of card (you can use colored base as well), next time when you sharpen your pencil don't throw the peel as it can be used for making flowers like these & you can use few buttons & ribbons for decoration purpose ( beads or sequins also can be used) or whatever is easily available at home, some sketch pens for drawing. Now explore your own imagination and create something nice & share it with me too :)

On a crafty day

My small little artists wanted to make something best out of waste, so we used empty tissue paper rolls for making these beautiful butterfly pencil holders & decorative owl. It was really fun to make all these, very easy & simple art & craft project for kids of any age group. Here are some tips for making these.............

Material used : Empty tissue paper rolls, colored construction sheets, small round cardboard (for the base of pencil holder), colored marker pens, glue stick.

Cover the roll with colored paper & glue it properly then make face & body of butterfly as shown in picture, attach the base round cardboard for the holder then fold another colored construction paper & cut butterfly wings shape. Decorate wings with different color pens (you can even stick some sequins & beads) or any other innovative way you like. Now you can stick the wings at the back with glue.

For decorative owl we covered the roll with construction sheet then turn the top from both sides to the center & secure it with a tape to form a shape as shown in the picture below. After that you can make the features of owl. use & small cardboard for & stick it in the base, cut small claws & stick it at the bottom.
